During this school year, Germantown Middle School students will have the opportunity to learn Spanish. I will meet with students during Social Studies classes. This is the schedule for 2007-2008:

8th Grade–once a week
*7th Grade–every other week/1st semester only
*6th Grade–every other week/2nd semester only

*IMPORTANT*
Because 6th and 7th grades meet every other week during their assigned semester, they will not cover all the lessons shown on this schedule.

CLASS RULES
1. Listen
2. No talking
3. Be respectful of the teacher and the students in class.
4. When someone makes a mistake, do not make fun of them.
This is an opportunity to be kind by helping them.

Students are required to have a folder for Spanish. I also encourage students to purchase an English/Spanish Dictionary (paperback).

This is an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for high school foreign language classes. Please encourage your child to use the vocabulary/phrases they have learned in class. Frequent use will help them remember. The acquisition of foreign language skills is a process that begins with only a few words and continues to build as they progress.
